Author

Zeynalabdin Ali oghlu Isgandarov was born on 26 July 1949 in Baku, Azerbaijan. From 1966 to 1970, he studied at the Azim Azimzade Art School, and from 1971 to 1977 at the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute. In 2011, Isgandarov participated in the International Sculpture Symposium in Rome, Italy, where he received an award for his work. Monuments created by the sculptor have been erected in Tovuz, Astara, Ismayilli, and Tabriz. His works have been exhibited in Russia, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan. In 2017, the NUR Art House Gallery hosted the exhibition The Isgandarovs, featuring works by the artist and members of his family. In 2006, Zeynalabdin Isgandarov was awarded the honorary title of Honoured Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In September 2015, he was named an Honorary Professor of the Rome Academy of Fine Arts, and in 2021 he was awarded the 3rd Degree Labour Order. Zeynalabdin Isgandarov passed away on 27 October 2021.
